Random Characters

Some funky characters I found the other day in my sketch book... I'm not even sure why I doodled these guys but they all look part of the same gang :)

Tee Tip Off

This tee (whoops sold out now!) has to be my favourite so far!

and it's a great memento for me to remember my old nose...
I've had a peek under my bandage but it all looks very bruised and swollen - hopefully it won't stay that way. I can't wait for it to heal so that I can show you all my new look!

The Charming Smile

The complete piece for the show Curiouser & Curiouser at Gallery Nucleus inspired by Lewis Carroll's ‘Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'.

convalescing

My Darlings,
First of all I want to say how sorry I am that I haven't posted for nearly a month. Way to long for my fabulous fans to get their Fifi fix!

The thing is, I have not been having such a fabulous time. Let me explain. At the end of last month I was trotting down the Kings Road, having just left Bar JuJu and their delicious carrot cocktails ( which may go some way to explain what happened next ). I was running to catch a cab and completely forgot I was wearing totally inappropriate footwear for athletic pursuits - 7 inch platform heels. I felt my ankle wobble and everything went into slow motion as I flew ungracefully towards the pavement. I can remember having time to think 'oh dear this isn't good' but it seems I didn't have time to put my paws out for protection. To cut a long story short not only did I break my ankle I totally smashed up my nose. The cab driver who saw it happen was so sweet to me, taking Ruby and I straight to the emergency room and refusing payment. Although, looking back maybe he was just glad to get us out of his taxi. I spent the entire journey rambling on about this and that - I must have been in shock. I even tried to air kiss him as he helped me out of the cab!

My ankle was the least of my worries though. My nose was so badly injured I had to have surgery. I'm now feeling pretty sore and very sorry for myself. I still have my book to write too and the deadline is looming, so Ruby's been round to help me get all the things I need to work from my sick bed. She is such a good friend to me I am going to have to think of a way to thank her properly. I'm not sure when the bandages can come off but I'm really looking forward to it. I slipped a little request to the surgeon before I went in. Secretly I've always wished for a slightly slimmer snout!

I hope you're all having more luck than me

High Expectations

Wandsworth Bridge area, London

The above image was my first installation of the year, back in January. It is available in a few formats at Andipa Gallery, including a small print on aluminium and a large-scale print in an edition of 7.

A bit of an update on upcoming shows...

Tonight, Thursday 4th March, sees the opening of the Skullduggerous group show in aid of the Bhopal Medical Appeal. The show is held at The Pure Evil Gallery in Leonard Street, London and is open until the 13th March. I have a new installation in the show, titled 'Chicken Tikka Disasta'... Other contributors include Swoon, Pure Evil and The Krah amongst many others - you can see some work from the show here. Check it out if you can - it is for a great cause.

Last summer I installed a number of installations around the grounds of the English Heritage house Belsay Hall, just outside of Newcastle. The photography of these will be part of the show Extraordinary Measures, which opens at Belsay on May 1st 2010, along with work by artists such at Ron Mueck, Matt Collishaw and Tessa Farmer. More information and images closer to the time....

And below are a few books that i have been featured in recently and which i would recommend to decorate coffee tables and make yourself look interesting and arty.
