Originals for sale

Sometimes you can find some affordable original work available in my ETSY http://acerriteno.etsy.com like this small painting entitled: My New Dress
Acrylic on paper, 5.5" x 8.5" (13.5 x 21 cm)

And this one comes with a bonus! :) accidentally I painted it on the other side of an old-unfinished watercolor study, so this time you get almost 2x1.

Sponge Bob Square Pants

I decided to create a new dimensional art piece based in one of my favorite cartoon characters, Mr. Sponge Bob Square Pants. My son was crazy about it, even as he said – Doesn't matter that is not perfect like the one in TV, I WANT it! love those "fancy" eyelashes – So this one is going to live in his room.

El Catrin for The Iconoclastic Dead Show

My piece entitled "El Catrín" represents the namesake urban legend from a little old town in Guanajuato, Mexico called San Juan de Dios where locals claims to have seen the ghost of this elegant man who committed suicide around the third decade of the 20th century. The story says he killed his wife and then regretted hanged himself and to these days you could see him walking around in a park of the same town looking for his lost love. Nowadays in Mexico the word "Catrín" is a synonym for an elegant and dressed up man.

Featuring 40 artists in Mexico, DF to celebrate the Day of The Dead.
The Iconoclastic Dead show premieres October 1, 2011

Gurú Tienda Galería
Colima 143, LA ROMA
Mexico City, Mexico

The piece has been embellished with metallic acrylic touches!

I found this beautiful ornamental skulled frame for my piece, very ad-hoc. Lucky me! ...Or I should say who ever buys the piece I guess :-)

The Tortoise's Travels

The napkin doodle has found it's way to end as my latest limited edition Giclée Print.

The idea for this came up the other day while I was playing with my kids and one of them saw a turtle shaped cloud above in the sky and that follows a long story about the tiny things this turtle was doing in his cloudy life up there... she has a house, she eats an apple, she plays volley ball, enjoy the sun and every once in a while visits her friends and family houses, during the time my son was talking about all the things this turtle enjoyed to do we noticed the turtle shaped cloud was going away pushed by the wind so I asked my son – If the turtle is forced to move out, what do you think she would like to take with her? – He responded, well, the most important things for her are obviously her family and friends so probably will take their entire houses with her...

So, I made this sketch first based in our turtle conversation :)

And the final piece just arrived!
This is a signed and hand-numbered 100 Limited Edition Giclee Print.
Size: 16" x 20" (40 x 50 cm) on 100% cotton rag, archival acid free base, fine art paper.

The G3 Show

I just finished my three pieces for the 3G show coming up at 1988 Gallery in Los Angeles. The show features the artwork of many artists inspired by three movies that defined one generation. Ghostbusters, The Goonies & Gremlins.

The opening night wil take place the friday, September 3rd from 7-10 PM
The show will run till September 22nd. So hopefully some of you will be able to attend.

I'm so happy to be part of the show specially cause I recently showed these three movies almost in a row to my 6 years old boy, which BTW he loved them (of course) and later on I received an invitation to participate on this show :) ...Was that a premonition?

The show is curated by The Autumn Society.
